Aeon from Cafe De Anatolia: Exclusive Insights from the DJ & Producer in an Interview

With his unique approach to production and passion for music, Ashish Ganguli, also known as Aeon is making an impact in the electronic music scene lately. Our team had the chance to catch up with him and he shared insights about his music career and inspirations.

Ashish Ganguli, based in Toronto, Canada, is a DJ and music producer who decided to pursue his dream of music production after honing his skills as an engineer. He specializes in producing Ethnic Deep House, Progressive House, Deep House, and Melodic Techno. His goal is to create high-quality music that resonates with DJs and listeners worldwide, believing that music is an expression of the universe brought to life through engineering sounds.

Ganguli’s style of music can be described as melodic, emotive, creative, and deep house, with an ethnic touch that aims to touch the soul. He finds inspiration in ancient chants, rituals, cosmic cycles, and melodies from the past, present, and future. For him, music is a way to connect people and societies, as it is an expression of the universe that aligns with the vibrations of cosmic structures.

When it comes to creating music, Ganguli finds the early morning and late night to be the best times of the day, as they offer a quiet and focused environment. His musical influences include renowned artists such as David Guetta, Miss Monique, Kishore Kumar, and R.D Burman, who have played a significant role in shaping his artistic journey.

Being a musician comes with its challenges, and for Ganguli, finding the perfect balance between chord changes is one of the most difficult aspects. However, his career has also seen significant highlights. One of them is bringing his music to the Café De Anatolia label after joining Reckoning Records, a prominent and fast-growing major label in Canada.

In addition to nature and natural sounds, Ganguli also draws inspiration from modern technology in his music. His latest releases include the upcoming “OM” on March 22, 2023, and the “Hypnosis” EP on March 31, 2023, both of which will be released through Reckoning Records.

Ganguli recently connected with Café De Anatolia after developing his track “OM” and was honored to be accepted for release. He is a newcomer to the group but is excited about the opportunity. Currently, he is working on a new EP, aiming to release it through Café De Anatolia in the summer of 2023. As of now, Ganguli is focused on music production and spends most of his time in the studio.

When asked about the best piece of advice he received from another musician, Ganguli emphasized the importance of having an original idea, which has greatly influenced his own creative process. As for dealing with performance anxiety, he doesn’t experience it much, as he thoroughly enjoys performing and the atmosphere it brings.

For aspiring musicians, Ganguli’s advice is always to be original and not try to copy others. He suggests drawing inspiration from nature and the people around them to create something unique. Good music is often appreciated when it is original and authentic.
