Daniel Dee
ABOUT YOU
Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
My name is Daniel Dee, I was born in 1982 in Rome, Italy. I began my journey as a DJ at the age of 15, performing at one of the most well-known clubs in Rome at the time: NRG (Ciampino). Back then, the Roman club scene was heavily influenced by the trance-progressive genre, which played a major role in shaping my sound. After only one year of playing, I was selected as the resident DJ at NRG, establishing myself as a key figure in the local scene.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
I was always drawn to progressive, melodic house, and techno. The emotional depth and energy of these genres truly inspired me to create and share my own sound.
How would you describe your style and sound? What sets you apart as an artist?
My music shifts fluidly — from deep, emotional openings to dark, powerful club sounds at peak time. I strive to bring a journey-like experience to every set. What makes my sound unique is how I merge these dynamics into a coherent signature that defines Daniel Dee.
ABOUT YOUR RELEASE
Tell us about your latest release. What’s the story or inspiration behind it?
I’m currently working on a new album called “Progressivand”. It features dancefloor-driven tracks that are versatile and suitable for a wide range of electronic sets — from deep house to melodic techno. Each track carries strong energy and a forward-moving vibe.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
Pure energy and rhythm — music that makes you move and feel fully present.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
Through years of dedicated study and experimentation, I’ve continuously shaped my own personal style. This album is the result of that evolution — a clear representation of who I am as an artist today.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
It’s more refined and personal. I’m always working to create a signature sound that reflects my growth and individuality — something unmistakably Daniel Dee.
INDUSTRY & PERSONAL INSIGHTS
What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
The biggest challenge is breaking through the noise — becoming recognized at the top and staying there, consistently delivering high-quality work.
What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
So far, I’ve mainly focused on record releases, including my recent collaboration with Cafe De Anatolia, which has been an exciting step forward and an opportunity to reach a broader, more global audience.
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
It takes a lot of patience, persistence, and unfortunately, a fair amount of financial investment. But if you’re truly passionate, it’s all worth it.
LOOKING AHEAD
What can your fans expect next?
I have new albums on the way and upcoming live shows along the Roman coast, where fans will be able to hear me perform my latest material in person.
