deadmau5 Powers Up Creative Innovation With Custom-Built Server in Partnership With 45Drives

Electronic music pioneer deadmau5 has once again pushed boundaries—this time not with sound, but with technology. The Canadian producer has partnered with open-source hardware leader 45Drives to create a custom-built server designed specifically for creators who demand both power and control.

A Server Built for Creators, Without Compromise

For years, artists and content creators have faced a trade-off between high performance and full control of their hardware. deadmau5’s collaboration with 45Drives changes that narrative. The newly developed signature series server offers top-tier performance without forcing creators to compromise on flexibility.

The custom server will make its debut at the 2025 Creator Summit in Wilmington, North Carolina, running from September 8–12. The official reveal takes place on September 12, marking the first product launch under 45Studio, the new creative-focused division of 45Drives.

Features Designed With Creators in Mind

Built with direct input from deadmau5 and the 45Drives R&D team, the server is engineered to handle the most demanding creative workflows, from video rendering and music production to livestreaming. Its features include:

  • Passive cooling for silent operation in studio environments
  • High-speed SSD storage for faster performance
  • Modular components that can easily scale with growing creative needs
  • Latency-minimized architecture for seamless real-time production
  • Noise reduction technology to eliminate audio interference

This combination ensures that artists, producers, and content creators can focus on their craft without worrying about system bottlenecks or interruptions.

A Shared Vision for Open and Scalable Hardware

According to Dr. Doug Milburn, President and Co-Founder of 45Drives, this project reflects a joint mission between the company and deadmau5:

“deadmau5 represents the kind of creator who refuses to compromise—and that’s exactly who we built 45Studio for. This isn’t just a partnership; it’s a shared belief that open, scalable hardware should be in the hands of the people actually making things. We’re proud to have built something truly new with him.”

The Creator Summit, now in its third year, is set to be the largest yet. deadmau5 will appear not only as a performer but also as a product designer, showcasing his role in shaping this new era of creator-focused technology.

The conference runs from September 8–12, 2025, and will feature panels, workshops, and performances dedicated to empowering creators across industries.
