Egor Negin / HumanEgo
Tell us more about yourself & your music career?
I’m HumanEgo, also known as Egor Negin. I’m an electronic music producer, a DJ, and an event creator. Currently, I’m hard at work on my debut album in the Afro House genre. My passion for Africa, particularly its musical elements, was ignited during my travels in 2014-2015. My music is a fusion of rhythms and melodies inspired by the Masai tribe, Buryat throat singing (stemming from the indigenous people of Baikal Lake, my homeland), piano arpeggios, and techno components.
Starting out as a DJ and musician, I realized that my true calling was to create and share music. I’ve accumulated a wealth of experience in media and entertainment, including hosting numerous music shows on MTV and organizing music festivals in Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Recently, at the “In Unison with Music. City Edition” festival in Dubai, I had the honor of delivering an exceptional DJ set alongside global luminaries such as Salvatore Ganacci, Todd Terry, Imanbek, Le Twins, UMEK, and dOP.
Based in Dubai, I’m currently channeling my energy into crafting my album and hosting weekly club events under the banner of “UNISON FRNDS.” These events feature special guests from across the globe, including names like Camilo Franco (Ibiza), Culoe De Song (Africa), DJ Bliss (UAE), Starving Yet Full (Rwanda), Simone Vitullo (Italy), and Aaron Sevilla (Spain), to name a few. I also curate a monthly radio show titled “Let’s Face the Afro House” on DiFM.
What initially sparked your passion for music, and how did you decide to pursue a career in the industry?
My love for music ignited in my childhood, leading me to graduate from a music school in piano at the age of 12. I later worked as an editor and producer at MTV, organizing major music festivals. This path eventually led me to become a DJ and producer, allowing me to express my musical experiences more accurately. Sharing these experiences with the world brings me immense joy.
Can you share a memorable moment from your music career that made a significant impact on your artistic journey?
Choral singing in its various forms profoundly influenced me. Incorporating Buryat throat singing in my track “What the Steppe Is Silent About” added a cosmic dimension. I’m currently working on a track with a Georgian choir, aiming to evoke the deepest emotions.
As an artist, how do you approach the creative process? Do you have any specific rituals or methods to get into the creative mindset?
The most productive creative time for me is 1-2 hours before dawn. This magical period fuels my creativity and allows me to tap into the universe’s energy before it awakens.
What sets your music apart from others in the industry? What makes your sound unique?
My music maintains a magical vibe, suitable for sunset parties and late-night club scenes alike. It possesses enough energy to move both lone dancers on the beach and large festival crowds, creating a universal connection.
How do you handle challenges or setbacks in your music career? Is there a particular experience that taught you valuable lessons?
I firmly believe in never giving up. Embarking on a music career at 44 and releasing my debut EP at 46 defies conventional timelines. The lesson learned is that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.

“If I Were…” is my debut EP inspired by my travels in Africa. The EP captures the impressions and emotions I experienced during my journeys through this part of the world. Africa, being the birthplace of all existing music, fascinated me. To comprehend it, I fused electronic rhythms, classical instruments, and ethnic vocals, creating a unique blend of genres that resonates with the soul. Cafe De Anatolia is a label that’s incredibly attuned to both ethnicity and melody. Releasing my initial tracks with this label is an immense honor. This collaboration marks the beginning of a beautiful musical journey with Cafe De Anatolia, and I’m excited to explore new horizons with them.
