Acclaimed Australian electronic artist HAAi has announced her much-anticipated second solo album, titled HUMANiSE. The new full-length record is scheduled for release on October 10th via the iconic Mute Records, home to groundbreaking artists such as Depeche Mode, Moby, and New Order.
This album follows her celebrated 2022 debut, Baby, We’re Ascending, which received widespread praise for its boundary-pushing sound and emotional depth. Now, with HUMANiSE, HAAi returns with a renewed vision, blending experimental textures, pulsating rhythms, and a powerful message of inclusion and resilience.
HUMANiSE Is a Love Letter to the Queer and Trans Community
HAAi, known for her genre-defying productions and inclusive ethos, has described HUMANiSE as a tribute to her trans and queer family, as well as the allies who stand beside them.
“This album is for my trans and queer family and our allies, to say thank you for lighting up every space you’re in. I will always be in your army,” she shared in an emotional statement.
This deeply personal intention is reflected throughout the album’s sonic journey, which features contributions from an eclectic and talented roster of artists. Collaborators include Jon Hopkins, Obi Franky, James Massiah, Kam-Bu, Kaiden Ford, and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor. Adding an even more powerful dimension to the record is the inclusion of the UK-based TRANS VOICES choir, who lend both vocal beauty and symbolic weight to the project.
From DJ-Kicks to HUMANiSE: HAAi’s Creative Evolution
HUMANiSE marks HAAi’s first original studio album since her acclaimed 2023 contribution to !K7’s DJ-Kicks series. That mix solidified her position as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary electronic music, earning praise for its emotional storytelling and genre-spanning fluidity.
Now, HUMANiSE takes her sonic evolution a step further. The record weaves together ambient intros, dancefloor-ready anthems, poetic vocal features, and atmospheric soundscapes. Each track offers something unique, but together they form a cohesive, emotional narrative grounded in identity, unity, and collective joy.
Live Debut and Festival Season Performances
Fans won’t have to wait long to experience the new material live. HAAi is gearing up for a packed summer tour, which includes performances at some of the world’s most respected festivals. She’s slated to perform at Glastonbury, Lost Village, Body Movements, Making Time ∞, and several other events where she will preview tracks from HUMANiSE.
Her live sets, known for their energy, eclecticism, and emotional resonance, are the perfect environment to debut this highly anticipated release.
