Tell Us More About Your Release?

This 3-track EP, consisting of all organic house tracks, represents my new signature sound as a music producer. I aim to infuse various moods into each track, drawing inspiration from instruments and vocals from the Middle East and parts of Africa. The EP showcases a prominent bassline alongside these elements. I have a deep attraction to African vocals, which influenced this EP’s creation.

The process involved crafting a solid groove by combining a tight kick and bass with memorable drum patterns. I spent countless hours fine-tuning each track’s vocals, melodies, dynamics, instrumentation, and emotional nuances. It was a journey of experimentation, dedication, and sleepless nights. However, the end result is something I’m incredibly proud of and eager to share with the world.

What is your connection with Cafe De Anatolia?

I first discovered Cafe De Anatolia during the pandemic, when we were all confined to our homes, seeking solace in music. After I embarked on my journey as a music producer, I decided to submit a track to Cafe De Anatolia, and thankfully, it was accepted. This new EP is not my first release with Cafe De Anatolia; it marks my second release with them, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I have a profound appreciation for the music that Cafe De Anatolia introduces to the world. Their music resonates deeply with the soul, touching hearts in every conceivable way.

What initially sparked your passion for music, and how did you decide to pursue a career in the industry?

My father used to play the piano at home when I was a child, and I dabbled with it alongside him, my first encounter with captivating melodies and sounds. My mother, on the other hand, was a devoted listener of 80s English music, which featured powerful grooves that left a lasting impression on me.

During my school years, I gravitated towards playing the drums and, through hard work, earned a spot as the drummer for our school band, an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.

In my late teens, I was introduced to electronic music, with artists and groups like Supermode, Moby, Roger Sanchez, and Deep Forest dominating the scene. I spent countless hours purchasing CDs from our neighbourhood music store to enjoy at home.

Though I dabbled in DJ-ing in my late teens, life’s demands led me to take a break. It was only recently that I began producing music. Fortunately, I found an exceptional teacher and mentor named Mark Farry, who guided me through the process.

My decision to pursue a career in music stems solely from my deep love for this genre. There’s nothing more to it, and nothing less.

Is there a specific aspect of your career that brings you the most joy and fulfillment?

I derive immense joy and fulfillment from the entire creative process, from starting with a blank canvas to crafting a captivating groove to layering and refining elements within a track over time. The journey, from inception to completion, is pure bliss. It entails sleepless nights and the unwavering determination to bring an idea to life, but when I strike the perfect chord or discover the ideal sound for a breakdown, it’s an indescribable high. My creative energy radiates to those around me, and I feel truly alive as a music creator.

How do you stay motivated and inspired to continue creating music, especially during times when inspiration might be elusive?

I make a conscious effort to disconnect from technology regularly. Spending time in nature, getting lost in the wild, and reconnecting with the essence of being human rejuvenates my inspiration. When I sit down in the studio, I draw from these experiences, which serve as the wellspring of my creativity. Inspiration is never lacking because I wholeheartedly love every aspect of what I do.

Tell us more about yourself and your music career?

I originally hail from Punjab, India, and I recently relocated to Vancouver, Canada. Before delving into my passion, I spent some time climbing the corporate ladder. My entire family shares a deep love for music across various genres and eras, and their influence played a significant role in guiding me toward this path in life. My music career has just begun, and I have a multitude of plans in the pipeline. Stay tuned for what’s to come!
