Bechara Koyess a.k.a BAKH (Lebanon)
Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
My name is Bakh. I was born in Lebanon, and my journey has taken me across borders, shaping an international identity rooted in rich cultural influences. My musical story began early with 12 years of classical piano training, which laid the foundation for my artistic path. Over time, I found myself drawn to electronic music—blending classical discipline with modern energy. I’m driven by a relentless desire to evolve creatively while staying true to my artistic vision.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
My love for classical music naturally led me to explore the world of techno and electronic sounds. I see electronic music as an open field where emotion, rhythm, and experimentation can coexist.
How would you describe your style and sound?
I don’t limit myself to specific genres. My music ranges from Indie Dance and Afro House to Melodic Techno, Deep House, and Tech House. It all depends on my mood and energy at the moment. What sets me apart is the emotional depth and classical touch I bring into every track—especially through my piano.
Tell us about your latest release. What’s the story or inspiration behind it?
Kyra was inspired by a beautiful message I received from a five-year-old girl named Kyra on Instagram. She asked me to create a track that would help her fall asleep with a smile and dream of the sea. That heartfelt request shaped the entire direction of the track.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
Close your eyes and dream.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
As always, I incorporated my piano into the production—it’s a core part of my sound. For Kyra, I wanted to create a track that felt like summer: warm, rhythmic, and uplifting. I leaned into Afro House to bring that energy to life. Kyra was part of the creative journey from the beginning; I shared drafts with her and shaped the sound based on what made her smile or feel calm.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
This track is deeply personal. It wasn’t just made for someone—it was made with someone. Having Kyra’s input made this experience unique and emotionally rich.
What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
Trends shift quickly, and it can be tempting to chase what’s popular. But I believe that music should reflect the artist’s true emotions and worldview. It’s about connecting with people on a deeper level—not just chasing algorithms.
What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
Collaborating with Cafe De Anatolia has been a major milestone in my career. Their platform has helped bring my music to a global audience. Alongside other respected labels, they’ve given my work the exposure and support needed to grow as an artist.
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
Create from the heart. Don’t let trends dictate your sound. Stay true to your story and let your music reflect your soul.
What can your fans expect next?
I have 12 tracks ready for release and I’m working on debuting a live performance setup—something I’ve always dreamed of. I want to create immersive, emotional experiences on stage that connect even more deeply with my audience.
