RIMBU: Rising Musical Talent releases “EBIRA” via Cafe De Anatolia

Rimbu (CH)

Rimbu, a DJ/Producer of Kosovar nationality, has been living in Switzerland since his childhood. It all started for him in the ’90s, during the peak of soulful and vocal house music and vinyl. Rimbu began buying his first records and decided to build his music studio. At the same time, he met a group of young international prodigies who brought him on as a beatmaker. For nearly ten years, he produced numerous Hip-Hop and R&B beats for affluent clients. In 2009, Rimbu co-founded the DJ crew “DJ DEEP KEYS” with Mr. QWERTZ and his friend DAMIA. Together they produced the track “Best of Me” with Andrea Love, which was later remixed by DANNY CLARK & JAY BENHAM and JONATHAN MEYER on MUSIC Panevino, a sister label of JAMIE LEWIS’ PURPLE MUSIC Records, one of the most famous Swiss labels. In 2010, Rimbu produced some tracks on UNISON Records, a famous Spanish label. The following year, he created a duo with SCOT LOVE, aka SILO DISKO and signed Tech-house hits on Electrofraise Records, Littlehouse Records, Empty Whisky Flask Records, and Yummy Music. Between 2013 and 2014, Rimbu continued to produce Deep House tracks and signed with many labels such as Vinyl Loop Records and Funkyroom Records. In 2019, Rimbu joined Solstice Concept and produced tracks with CAFE DE ANATOLIA, a reference in organic house music. His music reached the top of the Beatport charts, including several top positions, and was played worldwide.

Tell us more about your release?

I enjoy changing musical styles and not sticking to just one. I wanted to produce more Afro tracks, and it happened quite quickly. I had these piano chords in my head, and it came naturally. I spend a lot of time in the studio listening to music of all styles, and I think it’s important to have an open mind to foster creativity.

What is your connection with Cafe De Anatolia?

In 2019, when I felt the urge to produce again, I discovered CDA. I liked their sound right away, and that’s when I decided to change my pseudonym and start producing organic house. In 2020, I released my first Anka EP on CDA.

What initially sparked your passion for music, and how did you decide to pursue a career in the industry?

I began mixing in 1998 in Switzerland, during a time when many raves were being organized. That’s when I decided to purchase my first Technics vinyl records and turntables, which I still have in my studio. In 2003, I bought my first computer and set up my first home studio.

Can you share a memorable moment from your music career that had a significant impact on your artistic journey?

Under the pseudonym Deep Keys, I released a track with the diva Andrea Love, whom I had signed to Panevino Musique, a sub-label of Purple Music, a prominent Full House label at the time. It was a magical moment for me!

How do you handle challenges or setbacks in your music career? Is there a particular experience that taught you valuable lessons?

The most important thing is to believe in yourself and never give up, to do what you love!

What’s your favorite part of being a musician? Is there a specific aspect of your career that brings you the most joy and fulfillment?

The gigs. I love being in front of an audience and feeling their energy. That’s my favorite part.

How do you stay motivated and inspired to continue creating music, especially during times when inspiration might be elusive?

I don’t want to put myself under any pressure; music has to be fun first and foremost. I’m lucky enough to have my studio in the basement of my house. So when I don’t feel inspired, I go upstairs to join my family.

What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

That was this year! I was fortunate enough to perform at the Unum festival in Albania. It was a magical moment for me, as I’m originally from Kosovo. Mixing in Albania was simply incredible, especially at such an important festival.

What are your latest releases?

I’ve released an EP called “The Heart of the Violin” on Circle of Life, and it’s been receiving a great response from fans!

Are you working on something new?

I have a few co-productions with my friends from the Odys experience (Dymos & Shizzo), several remixes, including a great track for Jay Fase, which I really enjoyed remixing, and my album is due out in early 2024!

Where and when is your next performance?

Until the end of the year, I’m reducing my concert schedule to give myself time to finish my album. I’ll be in Thailand at the end of December, and I have several concerts planned!
