London is set to host the highly anticipated debut of the world’s “most advanced” spatial audio soundsystem at Stone Nest. Created by Amsterdam-based audio company 4DSOUND, this groundbreaking system will be showcased next month, featuring performances by acclaimed artists such as Kali Malone, Max Cooper, Oren Ambarchi, Grand River, Andrea Belfi, NikNak, and more.
Stone Nest, formerly a Welsh Chapel, will serve as the venue for a series of immersive events that leverage the unique capabilities of the 4DSOUND experience. With a large-scale set-up of spatial audio speakers, the audience will be fully immersed in a 360-degree sonic environment, creating an unparalleled listening experience. These innovative speakers are aptly described as “sonic sculptures,” adding to the uniqueness of the soundscapes.
According to 4DSOUND director Poul Holleman, the company has spent a decade developing what they call “spatial sound instruments,” enabling artists to play the space itself as an instrument. Their aim is to deliver captivating listening experiences that span the spectrum from realistic environments to mind-bending electronic manipulations. Describing the full potential of 4DSOUND’s technology is challenging, making it all the more inviting for anyone with an interest or curiosity in spatial sound to join the event at Stone Nest.
