Charlotte de Witte is set to make Tomorrowland history in 2025 by becoming the first artist to both open and close the iconic Mainstage in a single day.
As the world’s most iconic electronic music festival returns to Boom, Belgium, Tomorrowland 2025 is bringing with it a groundbreaking moment. On Saturday, July 19th, 2025, Belgian techno powerhouse Charlotte de Witte will perform twice on the Mainstage—once at Daybreak and again during the night’s closing set—a feat no artist has ever accomplished in the festival’s 19-year history.
A Full-Circle Journey for Charlotte de Witte
De Witte’s story with Tomorrowland is deeply rooted in personal and professional milestones. After winning a DJ contest in 2011, she earned a coveted opening set on the Mainstage—an opportunity that launched her career. Fast forward to 2022, she made history as the first techno artist and the first woman to close the same stage.
Now in 2025, she’s taking it one step further.
“This year, I’ll be playing on the Mainstage—not once, but twice,” de Witte shared in a press release. “Back in 2011, opening the Mainstage changed my life. In 2022, I became the first techno and female act to close it. And now, I’ll be both opening and closing on the same day—a full-circle, 360-degree moment I’ll never forget. I can’t wait to see everyone there—twice!”
Her Daybreak set will kick off the festival morning with her signature stripped-back, driving techno. Then, as night falls, she will return for the high-energy Mainstage closing, giving fans a full-spectrum experience of her musical journey and evolution.
A Defining Moment for Tomorrowland 2025
Taking place from July 18th to July 20th, Tomorrowland 2025 marks the festival’s 19th edition, featuring the theme “Orbyz,” a new creative vision that will reimagine its stage designs and immersive visuals. While the theme promises a refreshed aesthetic, it’s Charlotte de Witte’s historic double performance that is already generating the most buzz.
Festival-goers can expect an emotionally charged and high-impact performance arc from morning to night, perfectly capturing de Witte’s unique blend of narrative and raw techno power.
