Skrillex and Diplo Secretly Finished a Second Jack Ü Album — But It May Never Be Released

When Skrillex and Diplo first joined forces as Jack Ü, they set the world of electronic music on fire. Their explosive energy, genre-blending creativity, and star-studded collaborations made them instant festival legends. Now, more than a decade later, a shocking revelation has surfaced — there’s an entire second Jack Ü album that fans never got to hear.

The Rise of Jack Ü

Back in 2013, the dynamic duo debuted Jack Ü at Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party, captivating fans with their high-octane performance and unpredictable sound. A year later, they dropped a chart-topping debut album, packed with hits like “Where Are Ü Now” featuring Justin Bieber — a track that defined an era of EDM.

However, despite their success, Jack Ü suddenly went silent. The project faded away as Skrillex and Diplo pursued separate musical paths. While Diplo remained vocal about his desire for a reunion, Skrillex focused on his solo evolution, teaming up with artists like Four Tet and Fred again.., pushing his sound into new, experimental territories.

The Secret Second Album

During a recent appearance on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast, Diplo finally dropped the bombshell. Speaking with host Nayeema Raza, he revealed that a second Jack Ü album was fully recorded. Even more surprisingly, it included collaborations with Florence + The Machine and Charli XCX.

“We did a whole second album,” Diplo admitted. “We recorded so many weird records.”

The thought of what that album might have sounded like has sent fans into a frenzy. Imagine the power of Skrillex’s mind-bending sound design fused with Diplo’s pop instincts — and topped off with Florence Welch’s ethereal voice or Charli’s futuristic edge.

Why We May Never Hear It

Sadly, despite this revelation, Diplo made it clear the project is unlikely to see the light of day. According to him, the relationship between the two producers has soured.

“Skrillex hates me… it’s a real kind of crazy hate that I just can’t understand,” Diplo confessed. “I don’t really know what the real issue is, but I just love the guy. We were like brothers.”

The producer also mentioned that mediation attempts didn’t help. It’s a heartbreaking situation for fans who have been waiting for a reunion of two of EDM’s most innovative minds.

A Legacy That Still Echoes

Even though Jack Ü’s return seems uncertain, their influence continues to shape the modern electronic scene. Their bold approach to production opened doors for countless artists blending pop, bass, and experimental sounds.

Diplo summed it up perfectly:

“We were really a good combo because I have wild ideas for pop music and he’s just—nobody’s better than him at creating sound that just makes you go, ‘what the fuck.’”

Whether or not that secret second album ever leaks or officially drops, Jack Ü’s impact remains legendary. Fans can only hope that one day, the duo will reconcile — and that the world will finally hear the lost music that could have changed the game once again.
