Muntego’s Ethno Swing: A Fusion of Jazz and Afro House Set for Release

Muntego

Write a short paragraph about your RELEASE (your inspiration, process, genre, instruments used in it, and the story behind the creation).
The idea of creating this piece of music was born from the swing technique (delay of every second 8th note) and an attempt to combine this technique with ethno rhythms. In general, this is a free interpretation of a combination of jazz and Afro house.

What is your connection with Cafe De Anatolia? (write about your release with Cafe De Anatolia)
This is my first release on a label of such scale and quality. It was very nice to meet and work with the label team, a great experience with nice people. I hope for a long and fruitful cooperation.

Tell us more about yourself & your music career.
I am a DJ and producer born in Vilnius, Lithuania—a cloudy city in the Baltics where I spent many days of my life and began performing as a DJ. A few years ago, I moved to Cyprus, to the sea and the sun, and started creating music inspired by a mixture of electronic ethno rhythms from Africa, Morocco, and Spain, combined with industrial trends from the UK and Frankfurt.

How would you describe your style of music?
Ethno electronic, melodic tech-house music that no one has thought of before.

What is your best time of the day to create?
Night and early morning.

Who are your musical influences?
Boris Brejcha, Rampa, Cid Cudi, TH, Vinila von Bismark, Sofia Kourtesis, Louis The Child.

Are you working on something new?
Yes, of course. We are planning to release an EP that will include two tracks. It will be a collaboration with a Ghanaian artist, mixing underground Afro house with a touch of Afrobeat.
