Andrew Jous
Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
My name is Andrew Jous, an electronic music producer and DJ originally from Moldova and currently based in Germany. My journey into electronic music started through DJing, where I discovered how powerful music can be in creating emotions and connecting people. Over time, I felt the need to tell my own stories through sound, which naturally led me into music production. Today, as Andrew Jous, I’m developing a sound that combines modern electronic music with emotional and cultural influences from my Eastern European roots.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
Music has been part of my life since childhood. I started experimenting with music at a young age, simply out of curiosity and passion. As I grew older, my friends and I began organizing different parties, and that was where I had my first real experiences with DJing. Those moments made me want to understand music on a deeper level and eventually create my own. As my passion became more serious, I decided to study music production professionally and attended Music Production School in Moldova. That experience gave me the knowledge and foundation to develop as a producer and gradually shape my own artistic direction. What started as a childhood passion eventually became an important part of who I am today.
How would you describe your style and sound?

(What sets you apart as an artist?)
I would describe my sound as a blend of Organic House and Afro House, enriched with cinematic elements and influences from Eastern European culture. I’m especially interested in combining modern electronic rhythms and deep percussion with instruments and melodies inspired by the region I come from. I like my music to carry emotion and atmosphere, not only energy. With every new production, I’m still exploring and developing my own identity, but my goal is to create music that feels modern while still carrying something from my roots.
ABOUT YOUR RELEASE
Tell us about your latest release.
(What’s the story or inspiration behind it?)
“LELE” is more than a track — it is a musical story inspired by old Eastern European folklore and legends. It tells the story of mysterious young women who were said to appear in the forests, gathering under the night sky to dance and perform ancient rituals. I wanted to recreate that mystical atmosphere through music, combining the feeling of an old folk ballad with modern electronic production, organic percussion, and Afro House rhythms. LELE is my interpretation of that world — mysterious, hypnotic, and connected to nature, where folklore and imagination become part of the music.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?

With LELE, I want listeners to feel as if they are stepping into another world — a mysterious forest where reality, legend, and music become one. I want the track to create a sense of mystery, freedom, and connection with something ancient. Even if listeners don’t know the story behind LELE, I hope they can close their eyes and imagine their own story through the music.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
The creative process behind LELE started with the story itself. Before thinking about the production, I wanted to imagine the world of the track — the forest, the night, the mysterious girls dancing, and the ritual atmosphere around them. From there, I began building the music around those images, using organic percussion, atmospheric sounds, emotional melodies, and folkloric influences. I wanted every element to feel like another part of the story. Step by step, the original idea developed into a modern Afro House production while keeping the mysterious and cinematic character of the ballad.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
LELE feels different from my previous work because I approached it as a complete story rather than simply a track. The concept, atmosphere, and music were developed together from the beginning. I explored my Eastern European roots more deeply and gave folkloric and cinematic elements a much stronger role in the production. For me, LELE represents another step in defining the identity and direction I want to develop as Andrew Jous.
INDUSTRY AND PERSONAL INSIGHTS
What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
I think one of the biggest challenges today is being heard in such a crowded industry while staying true to your own identity. There is an enormous amount of music released every day, and sometimes artists can feel pressure to follow trends simply to get attention. For me, the real challenge is finding the balance between evolving with the industry and continuing to create music that genuinely represents who you are.
What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
(Please mention your collaboration with Cafe De Anatolia.)
Collaborations and labels play an important role in my development as an artist. I believe that working with people who understand your musical direction can help you grow, discover new perspectives, and bring your music to a wider audience. My collaboration with Cafe De Anatolia has been an important part of this journey. Their support has given me the opportunity to present my music to a global audience and to further develop my artistic direction. I truly appreciate the trust they have placed in my music, and I see this collaboration as an important step in the evolution of the Andrew Jous project.
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
My advice would be to be patient, keep learning, and never be afraid to experiment. I’m still building my own journey as an artist, and one thing I’ve learned is that progress doesn’t happen overnight. Listen to feedback, improve your skills, connect with people, but don’t lose your own identity trying to sound like everyone else. Most importantly, keep creating — every track teaches you something and brings you one step closer to discovering who you are as an artist.
LOOKING AHEAD
What can your fans expect next?
There is definitely more music coming. I’m currently working on several new productions and continuing to explore the direction I’ve been developing — combining Afro and Organic House with cinematic storytelling and influences from my Eastern European roots. Some upcoming projects will go even deeper into this concept, with new stories, sounds, and collaborations. LELE is an important chapter for me, but it is also the beginning of what I want to build next as Andrew Jous.
