Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain Release Acoustic Duet of Lil Jon’s ‘Get Low’

After a teaser earlier in the week, Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain have unveiled their surprising collaboration: an acoustic cover of Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s “Get Low.” Zuckerberg shared that this reinterpretation was a heartfelt anniversary gift for his wife, Priscilla Chan.

The unexpected pairing, dubbed “Z-Pain,” stirred interest when Zuckerberg posted a snapshot of the two on Instagram with the caption, “It’s happening, guys.” T-Pain followed suit, playfully referring to Zuckerberg as “Z” and hinting, “It is time…” Now, the collaboration has been officially released under their new moniker.

Originally a 2002 hit that climbed to No. 2 on both the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts and topped the Hot Rap Songs chart, “Get Low” became an iconic track from Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s Kings of Crunk. Zuckerberg revealed in a later Instagram post that this song held sentimental value for him and Priscilla: “‘Get Low’ was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary.” He added, “This year, I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece. Sound on for the track, and it’s also available on Spotify. Love you, P ❤️.”

This creative partnership has been a few years in the making, with Zuckerberg even appearing on T-Pain’s Instagram livestream in May 2021. Over the summer, T-Pain gifted Zuckerberg a custom Nappy Boy Meta chain. Zuckerberg, in turn, showcased the chain in a video captioned, “Thanks @tpain for the epic new chain. Perfect opportunity to show how the new Segment Anything AI research model we’re releasing today can track different objects in the same video. Lots of fun video effects will be possible with this.”

Meanwhile, T-Pain recently received honors from his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. On November 10, Mayor John Dailey presented him with the Keys to the City and renamed Pasco Street to “T-Pain Lane” in recognition of the artist’s contributions and influence in the community.
