Mbivclub: Weaving Oriental House with a Global Beat at Cafe De Anatolia

Marina & Vitali / Mbivclub

Tell us more about yourself & your music career?

Mbivclub is a collaborative project between two musicians, Marina and Vitali. We have been working together for 16 years, initially focusing on hard dance music genres such as techno, hardcore, hardstyle, and industrial. We released digital and vinyl records on top labels like Industrial Strength Records, Hard Kryptic Records, Tersikore, DJU Red, and many others. Vitali has been involved in sound design for many years, releasing sample packs and creating sample libraries for various companies, while also working in plugin QA. Marina has experience not only as a studio singer but also as a live performer with a wide vocal range. She sings in various genres including pop, ethnic, rock, jazz, and opera. She composes songs in different languages, with many songs recorded in Russian (as it’s her native language). She also writes music for her own lyrics or instrumental compositions, arranges, and produces electronic music. We have always been interested not only in hard dance styles but also in house, dance, and pop music, which we have also released throughout this time.

Tell us more about your release?

Marina has been passionate about belly dancing and Middle Eastern music since childhood, and she had a dream to create her own song in Arabic. We were inspired by tracks from the Cafe De Anatolia label, especially by Billy Esteban’s compositions.

What is your connection with Cafe De Anatolia?

Our melodic track in Oriental House style features a danceable beat and vocal improvisation in the oriental style.

What do you believe sets your music apart from others in the industry? What makes your sound unique?

In our tracks, we strive to showcase our love for various musical styles and the diverse cultures of our world.

How do you stay motivated and inspired to continue creating music, especially during times when inspiration might be elusive?

Since there are two of us working together and we have a great interest in various musical styles, we always come up with new ideas for tracks. We send each other a lot of sketches and track ideas, so we don’t always have time to implement them all at once. We choose the idea that excites us the most at the moment, and that’s what we focus on first. As for the rough drafts and ideas for future tracks, we plan ahead up to 10 years.

Are you working on something new?

We have several tracks in progress in the genres of deep house with elements of Afro, chill-out, which we would be happy to release on Cafe De Anatolia.
