Dutch electronic music luminary Joris Voorn is set to release his highly anticipated album, Serotonin, on July 18, 2025, via Spectrum and Armada Music. This 14-track opus marks a significant chapter in Voorn’s illustrious career, blending emotive storytelling with his signature melodic techno and progressive house soundscapes.
A Triumphant Return to London
Voorn’s announcement follows a weekend of sold-out performances in London, including an exclusive set atop The Shard—Europe’s tallest building—and an all-night session at the iconic fabric nightclub. These shows not only celebrated his return to the UK capital but also set the stage for the introspective journey that Serotonin promises to deliver.
Crafting ‘Serotonin’: A Journey Through Loss and Renewal
The genesis of Serotonin traces back to 2020, during a period of profound personal loss for Voorn. After the passing of both his parents, he returned to his childhood home in the Netherlands. There, reconnecting with the piano he grew up playing, Voorn began composing what would become his most intimate work to date.
“That time was raw and emotional,” Voorn shares. “I reconnected with the piano I grew up playing, which shaped the soul of this album. Expect to hear a lot of piano throughout.”
This emotional depth is woven throughout the album, which seamlessly fuses ambient textures, melodic house rhythms, and immersive techno elements.
Notable Collaborations and Singles
Serotonin boasts an impressive roster of collaborations:
- “Burn” featuring Tom Walker
- “Seventeen” with Yotto and White Lies
- “You & I” featuring Nathan Nicholson
- “Flora” with Jan Blomqvist
- “Been There Before” alongside Pig&Dan and LIVI
The latest single, “Tomorrow,” offers a glimpse into the album’s sonic landscape, characterized by lush, atmospheric layers and emotive melodies. Voorn describes it as a track that evolved over two years, refined through live performances and audience feedback.

A Testament to Artistic Evolution
With over two decades in the electronic music scene, Voorn views Serotonin as a reflection of his artistic growth.
“This album really reflects how I’ve grown into my own sound,” he explains. “I’m not chasing trends—just making something honest, hopefully timeless, and able to move people on the dance floor.”
Serotonin is more than an album; it’s an invitation to experience the highs and lows of the human condition through music. As Voorn prepares for its release, fans can anticipate a body of work that resonates both on and off the dance floor.
