Lightning Effect and Steven Flynn are dedicated to delivering a unique musical experience that blends emotional depth with atmospheric soundscapes. Through this project, they aim to craft a signature style that resonates deeply with listeners.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
Our musical journey and collaboration began with a passion for the limitless possibilities within electronic music. The ability to experiment with sound, craft immersive atmospheres, and tell compelling stories through music drew us into this genre. Digital production techniques offer endless creative freedom, allowing us to shape our sonic identity in a way that feels both personal and innovative.
How would you describe your style and sound?
Our music fuses melodic, atmospheric, and dynamic elements. Deep basslines, hypnotic melodies, and powerful grooves define our sound. In our productions, we blend elements of melodic house & techno, progressive house, and organic house to take listeners on an immersive journey.
For this EP, our collaboration with Steven Flynn resulted in a fusion of energy and emotion. Get Real and Wake Up both deliver a driving club-ready structure while incorporating deep melodies that evoke a strong emotional connection.
Tell us about your latest release.
The Get Real EP was born from our shared passion for deep, emotional, and atmospheric electronic music. This project reflects our love for exploring electronic soundscapes and storytelling through music. Working alongside Steven Flynn, we aimed to create a seamless blend of hypnotic grooves, melodic depth, and powerful energy—tracks that resonate both on the dancefloor and on a deeper, more emotional level.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
We want listeners to experience a journey—one that moves between deep introspection and pure energy. Both Get Real and Wake Up are crafted to connect with people emotionally while maintaining an uplifting and immersive sonic experience. Whether dancing in a club or listening in a personal space, we hope the music transports them beyond the ordinary.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
The creative process started with a shared vision between Steven Flynn and me. We wanted to design tracks that blend organic textures with driving rhythms, creating a balance between melody and groove. The production process involved crafting deep basslines, hypnotic arpeggios, and layered atmospheric elements, all meticulously structured to maintain motion and emotional depth. We explored different arrangements and sonic textures until we achieved the perfect blend of energy and emotion.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
This EP further strengthens the connection between melodic house & techno, progressive house, and organic house. Compared to our previous works, it has a deeper, more immersive feel. One track incorporates ethnic textures, while the other leans into a more rhythmic, dancefloor-driven structure. Our collaboration with Steven Flynn allowed us to push our creative boundaries, leading to a more refined and expansive sound.
What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
One of the biggest challenges is standing out in a highly saturated market. With an overwhelming amount of new releases, capturing and maintaining the audience’s attention is a constant struggle. Additionally, balancing artistic creativity with industry demands can be challenging—artists often face pressure to produce commercially viable music while staying true to their vision. The key to overcoming this is maintaining a unique sound while evolving with the scene.
What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
Events, collaborations, and labels are essential in an artist’s journey. Collaborating with Steven Flynn on this EP brought fresh perspectives and ideas that enriched our sound. Our partnership with Cafe De Anatolia has been a significant milestone, providing us with strong industry support and global visibility. Their promotional efforts will play a crucial role in bringing our music to a wider audience. These kinds of collaborations allow us to focus on our artistry while ensuring our music reaches the right listeners.
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
Stay authentic and committed to your sound. The electronic music industry is constantly evolving, and while trends come and go, creating something meaningful and unique will always stand the test of time. Don’t be afraid to experiment, take risks, and push your creative boundaries. Networking, collaborating with like-minded artists, and working with supportive labels can open doors. Most importantly, be patient and let your passion for music drive your journey.

Exciting new music is on the way! Steven and I are currently working on new singles, both independently and as a duo, alongside some surprise collaborations.
