Nysiādes Redefines Organic House with ‘Apocalypse’ Debut via Cafe De Anatolia

Nysiādes

Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
We’re Nysiādes, a band that lives at the crossroads of ancient and modern. Our sound blends electronic music with traditional instruments and influences from the Mediterranean and beyond. The name comes from the Nysiads, the Oceanid nymphs connected to nature, rhythm, and transformation, and that energy really speaks to what we’re creating.
Each of us comes from a different background—classical, folk, electronic, experimental—and what brought us together was the urge to connect those worlds, not just musically but emotionally and culturally.

We blend organic instruments with modern production to create something both rooted and futuristic. Yiolanda masters the guitar and mandolin, bringing rich Eastern Mediterranean textures and her unique melodic phrasing. Rebecca adds beautifully arranged flute lines, infusing the sound with emotional depth and a classical sensibility. Francesca delivers a mesmerising vocal presence, powerful lyrics, and evocative toplines. Elena composes and produces, shaping the entire sonic world through synths and structure, tying it all together.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
Electronic music gives us the freedom to reimagine tradition and to create immersive soundscapes that tell stories. It allows us to connect with cultures, emotions, and people. Whether it’s through a shared feeling, a singalong, or a moment on the dance floor, we want to make music that resonates.

How would you describe your style and sound?
Our sound is like a journey through the world. Four women navigating the wavelengths of electronic and dance rhythms while carrying the feeling and importance of our histories. We aim to create a sound that moves, evolves, and connects like a soundtrack to both the stories we’ve inherited and the ones we’re still writing.

ABOUT YOUR RELEASE

Tell us about your latest release.
Our debut track, Apocalypse, is the first chapter of our story. It’s a song born out of the connection we found in each other as four women coming together almost by chance. We wanted our very first release to carry meaning, not only musically but also emotionally. It’s about the strength that comes from meeting at the edge of something unknown and choosing to move forward together.

The track reflects on the idea of transformation—like how collapse can sometimes bring clarity, for example. It captures that feeling of being in a moment where everything is shifting, but instead of resisting it, you let it move through you. The lyrics carry the weight of a reckoning, yet they also offer a kind of quiet hope.

In essence, Apocalypse is about connection. It’s about the beauty that can come from letting go, from facing uncertainty side by side, and from finding something meaningful in the aftermath.

What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
We hope Apocalypse makes listeners feel seen and stirred. It’s for those moments when everything feels fragile but full of possibility.

There’s rhythm in grief, and melody in hope. If you find yourself dancing, reflecting, or simply breathing a little deeper while listening, then our song has done its work.

Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
The creative process was deeply collaborative. Elena carefully crafted the melody, beat, and textures, shaping the overall soundscape. Francesca gave life to powerful lyrics and topline and delivered them with hypnotic and dynamic expression. Rebecca and Yiolanda composed the instrumental melodic lines, adding depth and an organic layer that grounded the piece in warmth and emotion.

INDUSTRY AND PERSONAL INSIGHTS

What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
One of the biggest challenges is choosing between emotional authenticity and the pressure to follow trends. With so much new music constantly flooding in, it’s easy to feel lost. But staying true to what’s in your heart, and supporting each other through that, is what makes the difference.

What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
Events and collaborations are key for visibility and for finding the right home for your sound. That’s why we chose Cafe De Anatolia to release our debut EP. They’ve built a platform that celebrates world music, with a focus on giving shelter to artists from all backgrounds, which speaks to inclusivity. We knew Apocalypse would be in good hands with them, as their vision aligns perfectly with ours, creating the ideal space for our music to be heard.

Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
When you feel uncertain or not good enough, take a step back. Block out the noise, and reconnect with why you started making music. There is always someone out there who needs exactly what you have to give.
