OMS MUSIC
Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
My name is OMS Music. I’m an electronic music artist and producer based in Canada, originally from Morocco. I started making music and producing a little before the COVID period, when I began exploring electronic sounds and learning production.
During the pandemic, I stopped for almost two years because everything slowed down, and it wasn’t the easiest time to stay creative. After that break, I came back with more motivation to focus seriously on music and developing my own style.
My tracks are mainly influenced by Afro House and Tech House, and I like creating tracks that have groove, energy, and emotion. My goal with OMS Music is simply to keep growing as an artist and share music that connects with people on the dancefloor and beyond.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
What really inspired me to pursue music was the feeling and the energy that electronic music can create. When I started discovering the electronic scene, I was impressed by how DJs and producers can control the atmosphere of a whole crowd through rhythm and sound.
Electronic music also gives a lot of creative freedom. You can experiment with different sounds, cultures, and grooves, and build something unique. That’s what attracted me the most to genres like Afro House and Tech House.
For me, it’s not just about making tracks; it’s about creating a vibe and sharing that energy with people.
How would you describe your style and sound?
I would describe my tracks as a mix of Afro House and Tech House, with a strong focus on groove and rhythm. I like tracks that have energy but also create a vibe that people can really feel on the dancefloor.
As a DJ and producer, I focus more on the atmosphere and the movement in the music rather than vocals. For me, the percussion, basslines, and rhythm are what really drive the track and connect with the crowd.
What sets me apart is mainly the way I blend different influences and build a vibe through my selections and productions. I try to keep my sound simple, energetic, and authentic to the underground electronic scene.
ABOUT YOUR RELEASE
Tell us about your latest release.
My latest release is called “Good Time.” The track is built around an Afro House groove with strong drums and piano elements that bring both rhythm and emotion to the track.
The vocal says, “I’m here for a long time, not just a good time, married to this game now.” That line really represents the idea behind the track. It’s about commitment and passion for music, not just enjoying the moment but being dedicated to the journey.
Musically, I focused a lot on the groove and the energy of the drums to create something that works well on the dancefloor, while the piano adds a melodic touch that keeps the track uplifting.
“Good Time” is really about the balance between having fun with the music and staying dedicated to the craft.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
I want listeners to simply feel the energy of the track and enjoy the moment when they hear it. “Good Time” is about the feeling you get from the groove and the atmosphere on the dancefloor. At the same time, it reflects my dedication to music and the journey behind it.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
The creative process started with the groove. I began working on the drums to build a strong Afro House rhythm that could really work on the dancefloor. After that, I added the piano to bring some emotion and melody to the track. The vocal came later and helped shape the message of the record. From there, it was about balancing the energy and the atmosphere to create something that feels both powerful and uplifting.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
This release is a bit different from my previous work because before I was more focused on Afro Tech, like my EP “Ufuna Ntoni.” With “Good Time,” I explored more of an Afro House direction. The track is built around strong drums and a groovy rhythm, bringing a different energy and vibe compared to my previous releases.

My advice would be to stay patient, keep learning, and focus on developing your own sound. I’m still at the beginning of my journey as well, so for me it’s all about growing, improving, and staying consistent with the music.
