Stefaína: Returning to the Soul of Sound with ‘TRY TO COMING’

Stefaína Mo (Miami, FL)

Can you introduce yourself to our audience?

My name is Stefaína Mo. I was born and raised in a small town in Uruguay, where electronic music was practically unknown. I discovered it in high school and immediately became curious. Years of research, learning, and attending festivals inspired me to be part of that world.

I began my DJ career in 2014, though my connection with music started much earlier — I studied piano from a very young age. My first residency was at Ocean Club, Punta del Este, Uruguay, that same year. In 2015, I moved to Ibiza, and without even seeking it, opportunities arose. I played in several local venues before touring in Argentina, Switzerland, Brazil, and the U.S. (Miami), performing for five years until the pandemic paused everything.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?

My deep emotional connection with music has always been my driving force. I’m fascinated by how electronic music creates harmony and shared emotion — it unites people regardless of who they are. Being part of that collective energy, helping people let go of stress, and simply feel joy is what keeps me going.

How would you describe your style and sound?

My sound is a fusion of Afro, Tech, and Progressive, with a melodic touch that brings depth and emotion. I want my sets to have rhythm, texture, and soul — to make people feel the tribal energy of Afro, the power of Tech, and the immersive atmosphere of Progressive.

About “TRY TO COMING”

Tell us about your latest release. What’s the story or inspiration behind it?

“TRY TO COMING” was born from an inner impulse to return to oneself — to reconnect with that emotional place where peace once existed. It’s about the search for that feeling, even when you’re not sure where it is anymore.

What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?

I want listeners to feel a journey — between what’s lost and what still vibrates inside. It’s a reflection on longing, memory, and emotional rebirth.

Can you walk us through the creative process?

It began with the melody — I wanted chords that carried both nostalgia and hope. Then came the vocals, which became the soul of the song — ethereal and haunting, like echoes of the past. From there, everything flowed naturally.

How does this release differ from your previous work?

This project wasn’t created to make people dance, but to make them feel. It’s more introspective and emotional — a step toward a more mature and vulnerable side of my sound, where melody leads the story.

Industry and Personal Insights

What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?

Staying true to yourself. It’s easy to get lost in trends, but what really lasts is emotional authenticity. The real challenge is maintaining that genuine connection — both with your music and with yourself.

What role do collaborations or labels play in shaping your career?

They are essential for growth and visibility. Collaborating with Cafe De Anatolia has been an incredible experience — the label provides artists with all the tools and exposure they need to elevate their music to a global level. I’m truly happy and grateful for this collaboration.

Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?

Study, listen, and practice — but above all, be patient and persistent. DJing isn’t just about playing tracks; it’s about telling stories, creating emotion, and crafting experiences people will remember. If you do it with passion, everything else will follow.
