Can you introduce yourself to our audience?
Hello everyone! My name is Vam Venu.
The name Vam Venu can be interpreted as “the music of the flute and love.” At its core, however, it refers to a special, symbolic flute.
It can also be understood as “a flute that radiates love” or “the notes of a flute filled with love.” For me, it is important that the name conveys not only a literal meaning but also a sense of music, emotion, and spiritual energy.
That is why I feel that “the music of the flute and love” best captures the essence of the project and the atmosphere I hope to create through my music.
My project is a musical experiment, a cultural mission, and a sincere attempt to create a new direction in electronic music by bringing a fresh artistic identity and unique cultural colors into the genre.
I studied at a music school, and I have always been passionate about music and the arts. Singing has always been my dream. Even during my school years, I realized that I wanted to dedicate my life to music—to express emotions through my voice and share positive feelings, happiness, and the joy of life with people around the world.
Through my music, I strive to create an atmosphere that inspires, connects people, and reminds us of the beauty of life beyond language and borders.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?
I studied at the Faculty of History, where I explored the history of cultures and civilizations from around the world. Sanskrit, as one of the world’s most ancient language traditions, has always fascinated me with its mystery and depth. From the very beginning, I was captivated by the sound of its letters and words.
Sanskrit is an ancient language, and its verses carry a unique spiritual and poetic power. I wanted to share that power with others through music. This inspired me to express my emotions in a language that embodies timeless wisdom and the richness of an ancient culture.
In my youth, I studied at a music school and performed in a choir, where I eventually became the lead vocalist. It was during that time that I developed the ability to sing in the third octave—a vocal range that has remained with me throughout my life.
That is why I often use falsetto and high notes in my music. This vocal expression allows me to convey a very specific emotion—one that reaches upward, evokes elevation, and creates a sense of transcendence and expanded awareness. Through these melodies and vocal lines, I strive to communicate those feelings directly to my listeners.
Another essential part of my artistic identity is my use of Sanskrit lyrics.
Although my songs explore different themes, they are all connected by a common message: pure love, selflessness, and genuine human connection. They also express a bright emotional energy—a longing to experience light, happiness, and inner harmony. These are the emotions I seek to convey, and the meaning of each verse is carefully chosen to reflect the emotional state I want my listeners to experience.
The foundation of many of my compositions comes from ancient Sanskrit texts, whose timeless wisdom embodies the emotions and values I wish to share—love, happiness, inner peace, and spiritual light.
I draw inspiration from a wide range of Sanskrit scriptures and literary works, carefully selecting passages whose meaning reflects the emotions and message I want to express through each composition.
At the same time, I have always been drawn to the rhythms, textures, and limitless possibilities of electronic music. I believe it is within electronic music that I can fully realize my artistic vision, free from conventional boundaries and creative limitations.
How would you describe your style and sound?
My musical style is rooted primarily in Organic, Deep, and Ethnic House, while also incorporating elements of Techno. The defining features of my sound are a steady, meditative rhythm and my distinctive high vocal register.
Ultimately, my artistic vision is built upon the connection between the ancient language of Sanskrit and contemporary electronic music—bringing together timeless spiritual wisdom and modern sound to create a unique musical experience.
ABOUT YOUR RELEASE
Tell us about your latest release.
I have always wanted to create something truly unique—a track that combines a deep sense of inner peace with the irresistible energy of a dance floor. My goal is to bring listeners into a meditative state while simultaneously inspiring them to move to a powerful four-on-the-floor kick and a deep, driving bassline.
Between the two drops, I perform some of my favorite Sanskrit verses. These moments create a space for reflection and meditation, allowing listeners to pause, reconnect with themselves, and immerse themselves in the timeless beauty and spiritual depth of the ancient language before the music builds once again.
What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?
In this track, which I titled “Exotic Island,” the lyrics speak about the feelings shared between two people whose love is free from selfishness or personal gain.
With this composition, I want to express the beauty of pure and sincere human relationships. My hope is that it reminds people to cherish the happiness they find in one another and to never lose the joy, warmth, and genuine connection that come from being together.
Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?
The foundation of my music lies in ancient Sanskrit texts that express the ideas and emotions I want to share with my listeners—feelings of love, happiness, inner peace, and spiritual light.
I draw inspiration from a wide range of Sanskrit scriptures and literary works, carefully selecting verses whose meaning reflects the emotion and message I wish to convey. Every text is chosen with intention, so that its wisdom and emotional depth become an integral part of the music itself.
I spend almost every day working in my studio, constantly experimenting with sound, and those experiments often lead to unexpected and unique musical discoveries. Once the instrumental foundation begins to take shape, I record my vocals, add different layers and instruments, and continue refining every detail.
When I finally feel that the track has become complete, balanced, and emotionally rich, I know it is finished and ready to be shared with the world.
How does this release differ from your previous work?
Working with Café De Anatolia has been a truly inspiring experience for me. Filled with that sense of creativity, gratitude, and inner peace, I wrote this track, which I consider to be one of the strongest and most meaningful works of my career.
I’m excited to share this piece with my audience, hoping it will inspire the same emotions and positive energy that inspired me while creating it.
INDUSTRY AND PERSONAL INSIGHTS
What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?
I try not to focus on the challenges or trends of the electronic music industry. Instead, I stay fully committed to my creative process—continually refining my skills in music production, mixing, and mastering.
From the very beginning, my goal has been to develop a sound that is truly my own rather than imitate someone else’s style. Achieving that has taken many years of dedication and experimentation, but I believe it is an essential part of my artistic mission.
Above all, I want my music to inspire people. If my work can bring someone a sense of joy, hope, peace, or emotional connection, then I know I have fulfilled my purpose as an artist.
What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?
Throughout my musical journey, there have been unforgettable moments on stage that were filled with deep emotion—not only for me, but also for the audience. The most rewarding experience is when I genuinely feel something through my music and see those same emotions reflected in the people listening. Their reactions, feedback, and heartfelt responses continue to inspire me to create.
I am also deeply grateful to the electronic music labels that have helped bring my music to new audiences, allowing me to connect with listeners around the world.
In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Café De Anatolia, with whom I recently began releasing music. Beyond being one of the most respected and internationally recognized names in the electronic music scene, they have remained genuinely supportive, approachable, and always willing to answer questions and help their artists.
I truly believe that my journey with Café De Anatolia is only just beginning. And if this is how it starts, I can confidently say that it is a strong and promising beginning.
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?
LOOKING AHEAD
What can your fans expect next?
(Are there upcoming releases, performances, or projects you’d like to share?)
Looking ahead, I am preparing several new releases that will explore both slow, meditative soundscapes and vibrant, dance-driven rhythms.
Each track will remain true to my artistic identity, featuring my distinctive vocal style and the unique combination of ancient Sanskrit verses with contemporary electronic music.
My goal is to continue exploring new musical landscapes while staying faithful to the vision that defines my work—creating music that is both emotionally uplifting and spiritually meaningful.
