Madonna’s legendary track “Ray of Light” is back in the spotlight as Beatport launches a Global Remix Challenge in partnership with Warner Music Group and the Queen of Pop herself.
This one-of-a-kind competition gives music producers worldwide the chance to reimagine Madonna’s era-defining 1998 hit using official stems from the original recording. The stems, provided by Madonna and her longtime collaborator William Orbit, give producers an authentic foundation to create fresh, modern reworks of the timeless dance anthem.
The Return of Veronica Electronica
The remix challenge coincides with the long-awaited release of Veronica Electronica, a long-rumored companion album to Ray of Light. Originally shelved at the height of Madonna’s late-90s success, the project is finally set to see the light of day.
The album will feature reimagined club edits from electronic icons like Peter Rauhofer, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone, alongside a brand-new remix by William Orbit. For fans and producers alike, this marks a historic revival of one of Madonna’s most groundbreaking eras.
