ZHU Makes Directorial Debut with ’24 Hours of Grace’

ZHU steps into the director’s chair with 24 Hours of Grace, a new documentary premiering at SXSW. Known for his mysterious persona and genre-blending music, the “Faded” producer now explores a different kind of storytelling. This film brings his creative process into focus like never before.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at ZHU’s Creative Journey

As director, producer, and screenwriter, ZHU offers an intimate look at his artistic evolution. 24 Hours of Grace follows him as he returns to San Francisco to record GRACE, his fourth studio album. The setting is a gothic cathedral, doubling as both a sanctuary and a creative incubator.

The film captures the high-pressure process of writing, recording, and performing an album in a single day. Viewers witness the emotions and challenges leading up to an exclusive, same-night performance of the newly created tracks.

Expanding Beyond the Studio

The journey extends beyond the studio. The documentary takes fans inside ZHU’s three sold-out performances at the Hollywood Palladium. His signature blend of dark aesthetics and immersive soundscapes comes to life on stage. More than a concert film, 24 Hours of Grace delves into the struggles of creation, the transformation of ideas into music, and the catharsis of live performance.
