Who knew Pink was packing arenas to such an extent? The 45-year-old singer generated nearly $700 million from her live performances throughout 2023 and 2024, making her the holder of the “second-highest grossing tour of all time for a female artist,” according to Live Nation.
This major milestone was shared by Ticketmaster’s parent company in a detailed report, just days after the conclusion of Pink’s Trustfall Tour. Despite competing with the high-profile tours of Taylor Swift and Oasis, Pink’s 34-show series didn’t receive the same level of media hype. The same was true for her Summer Carnival tour, which spanned 97 dates during the same period. Yet, while many may not have been aware of her extensive touring schedule, Pink’s dedicated fan base certainly was, purchasing around five million tickets in total, as per Live Nation.
Combined, the earnings from these tours contributed to the impressive $700 million-plus in gross revenue. Throughout the 98 cities she visited in 15 countries, the three-time Grammy-winning artist set multiple attendance records. Live Nation reported that Pink achieved record-breaking audience sizes at 15 venues, including Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park and Minneapolis’ Target Field.
The Summer Carnival tour’s leg in Australia and New Zealand alone attracted over one million fans across 20 stadium shows. Even if some attendees were repeat concertgoers or tourists purchasing tickets during their travels, this still means roughly 3.1% of the combined populations of the two nations witnessed Pink live.
It’s worth mentioning that ticket sales could have been even higher had it not been for the cancellation of four shows that had previously been postponed. Pink addressed the cancellations on Instagram, explaining that she needed surgery for ongoing knee and shoulder injuries.
These ticket-sale successes come at a time when the touring industry has seen slower sales in some areas, highlighted by Coachella’s struggles to sell out and numerous tour cancellations by other major acts.
The mixed outcomes of 2024 are influencing how festivals and artists plan their 2025 strategies. For instance, Coachella recently announced a robust lineup for 2025, featuring Green Day, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and Lady Gaga.
