RÜFÜS DU SOL Make Touring History With $158 Million ‘Inhale / Exhale’ Run

RÜFÜS DU SOL have officially reached a new level in electronic music touring history. The Australian trio’s Inhale / Exhale World Tour has closed with $158 million in gross revenue and 1.7 million tickets sold, making it the biggest electronic tour ever recorded by Billboard Boxscore in both revenue and attendance.

The 18-month global campaign, built around the trio’s fifth studio album Inhale / Exhale, concluded on September 5 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. The sold-out finale welcomed approximately 43,500 fans and brought the massive touring cycle to a close after dates spanning four continents.

A New Benchmark for Electronic Touring

The scale of the numbers is particularly significant because Inhale / Exhale became the first electronic tour to surpass $100 million in gross revenue, as well as the first to move more than one million tickets. The final totals pushed both milestones substantially further, reaching $158 million and 1.7 million tickets.

The tour began in March 2025 and moved through arenas, amphitheatres and stadiums across the United States and Canada, Europe, Oceania and Latin America. Its reported schedule included 54 dates in the US and Canada, 21 in Europe, 13 in Oceania and 10 in Latin America.

That international reach was matched by particularly strong results in North America. The final North American stretch generated $71.8 million from 31 dates, with 693,000 tickets sold.

From Intimate Rooms to Stadiums

Few details illustrate the trio’s trajectory better than the contrast between the beginning and end of their touring journey.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s early career was built in much smaller venues, while the latest tour placed Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt in some of the world’s biggest concert spaces.

The Toronto finale represented that progression in particularly striking fashion. What once meant playing to a few hundred people eventually became a sold-out Rogers Centre show, with the final night alone generating close to $5 million.

The group also made history earlier in the year with four consecutive sold-out headline shows at Madison Square Garden, establishing the largest electronic headline run at the venue.

The Numbers Behind the Record

The Billboard Boxscore figures place the Inhale / Exhale World Tour well beyond the previous electronic touring benchmark. ODESZA’s The Last Goodbye Tour, which ran from 2022 to 2024, had generated $56.3 million and sold 801,000 tickets according to Billboard’s reported figures.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s latest numbers have also transformed their overall career totals in Billboard Boxscore. Their recorded live revenue now stands at approximately $173.7 million, with around 1.9 million tickets sold across their reported touring history.

It is an important distinction that these figures refer to reported Boxscore concert data rather than every appearance an artist might make at festivals or other events.

A Defining Moment for the Live Electronic Era

The achievement reflects a broader evolution in how electronic music operates as a live genre. While festivals, clubs and DJ residencies have traditionally formed the backbone of dance music touring, RÜFÜS DU SOL have increasingly occupied the space historically associated with major arena and stadium acts.

The Inhale / Exhale World Tour demonstrates just how far that model can scale when electronic production, live instrumentation and a dedicated global audience converge.

After 18 months on the road, RÜFÜS DU SOL have now left a $158 million benchmark for future electronic acts to measure against. For the trio, the record arrives at the end of a touring cycle that transformed Inhale / Exhale from an album campaign into one of the largest live chapters in electronic music history.
