RVEEUM on “VEIL” — Afro House, Emotion & Energy

RVEEUM

Can you introduce yourself to our audience?

My name is Georgios Kalogirou, and I produce music under the name RVEEUM. I’m from Greece and I’ve been involved with music for many years, first as a listener and later as a producer. Like many people in electronic music, I started by experimenting in my home studio, trying to recreate sounds and tracks that inspired me.

Over time, producing became more than just a hobby. I became obsessed with learning sound design, arrangement, and how to create emotion through music. What started as curiosity slowly turned into a serious passion. Today, I focus mainly on Afro House and melodic electronic music, always trying to create tracks that have energy, groove, and a strong emotional atmosphere.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music, specifically in electronic genres?

Electronic music always felt limitless to me. You’re not restricted by instruments or traditional songwriting rules. If you have an idea in your head, you can build it from the ground up and turn it into something people can experience on a dancefloor.

What attracted me most was the combination of rhythm and emotion. I love music that can make people move while also creating a deeper feeling or memory. The Afro House scene especially inspired me because it blends powerful percussion, hypnotic grooves, vocals, and melodies in a way that feels very human and organic.

How would you describe your style and sound?

My sound sits somewhere between Afro House and melodic electronic music. I like deep grooves, tribal percussion, emotional melodies, and atmospheric elements that create a sense of journey throughout a track.

I don’t approach production with a formula. Usually, I start with a feeling or a mood and build around that. Sometimes it’s a vocal, sometimes a melody, and sometimes just a rhythm that catches my attention. I try to keep my productions clean but emotional and energetic.

ABOUT YOUR RELEASE

“VEIL” started from a simple idea: creating a feeling of mystery and anticipation. I wanted the track to have that moment where you’re moving forward but don’t yet know what’s waiting on the other side. That’s actually where the title came from — a veil is something that hides what’s beyond it, but also creates curiosity.

Musically, I was inspired by the energy of modern Afro House, combining driving percussion with emotional melodies and atmospheric elements. I didn’t want the track to be overly aggressive or overly melodic. The goal was to find a balance between groove, tension, and emotion.

For me, “VEIL” is a track that works both on the dancefloor and during those more emotional moments in a set when people connect with the music on a deeper level.

What message or feeling do you want listeners to take away from this release?

More than a specific message, I want listeners to feel something personal when they hear it. Everyone experiences music differently, and that’s one of the things I love most about it.

If I had to describe the feeling, I’d say it’s a mix of curiosity, movement, and optimism. Even though the track has a mysterious atmosphere, there’s also a sense of progression and light throughout it. I hope listeners can lose themselves in the groove and create their own story around it.

Can you walk us through the creative process behind this project?

Like some of my tracks, it started with the groove. I spent quite a bit of time building the percussion and finding the right rhythm before introducing any melodic elements. Once the foundation was there, I started experimenting with melodies and textures until the main theme of the track appeared naturally.

From that point, it became a process of refining details, removing unnecessary elements, and making sure every sound had a purpose. I wanted the arrangement to evolve gradually, creating tension and release without losing the energy of the groove.

The final stages were all about balance — making sure the track would work in a club environment while still keeping the emotional character that inspired it in the first place.

How does this release differ from your previous work?

I think “VEIL” represents a more focused direction in my sound. While I’ve always been drawn to melodic and atmospheric elements, this track puts a stronger emphasis on groove and dancefloor energy.

Compared to some of my earlier productions, there’s more confidence in the arrangement and a clearer balance between Afro House rhythms and melodic storytelling. It’s a sound I’ve been developing for a while, and “VEIL” feels like a natural step forward in that journey.

INDUSTRY AND PERSONAL INSIGHTS

What do you think is the biggest challenge for artists in the electronic music industry today?

I think one of the biggest challenges today is standing out while staying authentic. There is more music being released than ever before, which is great for listeners, but it also means artists can feel pressure to follow trends instead of developing their own identity.

Social media has also become a major part of an artist’s career. Producing music is no longer enough on its own — you also need to build a presence, connect with listeners, and consistently share your work. Finding the right balance between creativity and promotion can be difficult.

For me, the most important thing is focusing on long-term growth. Trends come and go, but developing your own sound and staying true to what inspires you will always have more value in the long run.

What role do events, collaborations, or labels play in shaping your career?

They play a huge role. Electronic music has always been built around communities, whether that’s through events, collaborations, or labels that help connect artists with audiences around the world.

Collaborations are especially valuable because they allow artists to exchange ideas and learn from different creative perspectives. Events are where music truly comes to life and where you can see how people connect with your work in real time.

Working with Cafe De Anatolia on the release of “VEIL” is an important step for me. The label has built a strong reputation for supporting melodic, organic, and culturally influenced electronic music, and its audience appreciates music that combines emotion, atmosphere, and groove. Being part of that family gives artists the opportunity to reach listeners who genuinely connect with this style of music, and I’m excited to share “VEIL” through the label.

Do you have any advice for aspiring artists looking to break into the scene?

My biggest advice is to be patient and focus on improving your craft. It’s easy to compare yourself to other artists, especially on social media, but every career develops at a different pace.

Spend time learning the fundamentals of production, finishing tracks, and understanding what makes a song work. Don’t be afraid to release music and accept feedback, because that’s how you grow.

Also, build genuine relationships within the industry. Connect with other artists, support their work, and become part of the community rather than only focusing on promotion. Opportunities often come from people who believe in you and your music.

Most importantly, create music that you would genuinely want to listen to yourself. If you’re making music only to follow trends, it becomes difficult to build a lasting identity. The artists who leave a mark are usually the ones who develop a sound and vision that feels true to them.

LOOKING AHEAD

What can your fans expect next?

There’s definitely more music on the way. Right now, I’m working on several new productions, continuing to explore the Afro House sound while pushing my own creative direction further.

One track I’m especially excited about is an upcoming release called “Magia.” It’s still in development, but it’s shaping up to be one of my strongest productions so far. It has a powerful groove, strong melodic elements, and the kind of energy that I think will connect really well with both listeners and dancefloors. I’m looking forward to sharing more details when the time is right.

Beyond that, my focus is on releasing more music consistently, connecting with new audiences, and continuing to grow the RVEEUM project step by step. The journey is just getting started, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.
